How does coaching work?

You decide what you want to focus on in our session - maybe there's a decision you're trying to make, a challenge you're having, or you're just feeling stuck, and aren't sure how to get unstuck.

I ask you questions that help you to think about yourself in new ways. You will learn about assumptions, interpretations and limiting beliefs that are getting in your way, and I support you as you choose how you want to move forward.

We may work with guided meditations and visualizations to help you connect with and regulate your nervous system, and invite you into a more beneficial mind-body relationship.

With coaching, you decide on the path you want to take towards your goals, and you identify the specific steps you will take.

I don't offer advice or opinions, because I know that you already have the answers you need. I offer non-judgmental presence for you to create the life you desire.

How to work with me

For you to make the changes you want in your life, you need to feel comfortable with me, so the first step is to make sure it feels like a fit. We'll do that by having a conversation about who you are, what your hopes and dreams are, and what you think is getting in your way.

During our conversation I'll give you a sense of what embodiment coaching is, what you can expect, and you'll likely gain some insights about yourself.

Includes: 9 x 50-minute coaching sessions. We'll meet every week, or every other week - you decide - and stay consistent to keep you on track and making progress.

Fee: $900 +HST

Stepping into the Pause

...an introduction to embodiment coaching.

This package is a great way to experience the benefits of coaching as you work through The Power of the Pause. Coaching sessions can help you through the places where you're stuck or just need a bit more accountability as you grow your mind-body connection and resilience. You'll receive a copy of the book, and three coaching sessions to help you get the most out of the Pause.

Included: 3 x 45-minute coaching sessions (Sessions are online, and take place within a 5-week period) and "The Power of the Pause" book

Fee: $300 + HST

Personalizing the Pause

...fine-tuning the pause to create more power - and more ease.

This package is an in-depth and practical companion to The Power of the Pause. I accompany you through each chapter, coaching you as you engage with the material in the book. Our sessions might focus on how you want to bring the learning to your life, places you're feeling resistance, or whatever else you choose to work with in each session.

Included: 12 x 45-minute sessions (Sessions are online and take place within a 4-month period) and "The Power of the Pause" book.

Fee: $1150 + HST

Is coaching like mentoring? Do you give advice?

Unlike mentoring, in which an expert offers advice and guidance, a coach knows that you are the expert in your life. I trust that you already have the answers you need, so I don't tell you what I think you should do.

Instead, I ask you questions that will help you look at things a bit differently, shift your perspective, and come up with the steps forward that feel right for you. I walk with you, but you lead the way.

Isn't coaching just for work situations and for people who want to make career changes?

Coaching can help you create meaningful change in many areas of life - health & well-being, personal development, spiritual awareness, family/parenting, fun & enjoyment, social & intimate relationships, personal finance, as well as career & profession.

The insights you gain about one area of life are often applicable in other areas. And when you create meaningful change and derive more satisfaction in one area of your life, you can't help but affect the others.

How is coaching different from therapy? If I'm in therapy, can I still get coaching?

Therapy generally focuses on learning from the past to help you understand the present, and facilitates healing by helping you figure out "why". Coaching focuses on the future, helping you plan actions that align with your values and passions, and then putting accountability in place for yourself so you follow through and create the outcome and transformation you desire.

You can benefit from both therapy and coaching at the same time if you're generally able to function well. If we start working together and I feel that coaching is not appropriate for you, I will refer you to a therapist.

Who decides what we work on in our sessions?

You do! In each session, I'll ask you what you want to work on and what your specific goal is. I'll ask the questions, and you'll lead the way.
